Nature therapy, also known as eco therapy, consist of ways of being in/with nature and experiencing awarenesses and understanding that may be beneficial to difficulties you may be experiencing. The benefits of being in nature are well known and many people noticed a shift in mood and their well-being from just sitting in nature and connecting to the natural world that surrounds us.
Research has shown that being in nature can help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. Being outside in nature can help relieve fatigue and increase one’s motivation and creativity. It can help to ease symptoms of PTSD and improve symptoms of ADHD. Nature on its own can support a more positive physical and emotional health and wellbeing. Working therapeutically with a counsellor/therapist within this natural space utilises nature at a more thought provoking and deeper level. With various therapeutic exercises and myself alongside you, my role is facilitating, supporting and encouraging exploration through the various characteristics within natural world. Working with nature therapy can help to develop an understanding and awareness to situations that have been impacting your life and support you to focus on them in a more positive and vibrant frame of mind.
